As part of the TCHPC centre, we have also access to state-of-the-art graphic technologies to visualize our results. The VIS-Room can provide 3D visualization, panoramic-style projections, and is equipped with a sound surround system.


Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC)


At CCEM, we have the privilege to have access to the main super-computing facility at ICHEC, Fionn, which is comprised of three main computing services:

    • A system with 320 nodes, each one with 2×12 core 2.4 GHz Intel Ivy Bridge processors and 64 GB of RAM.
    • A partition of 32 nodes for Intel and NVIDIA dedicated accelerators, each node with 2×10 core Intel Sandy Bridge 2.2 GHz processors, 64 GB of RAM and two accelerators.
    • A shared memory system with 1.7 TB of RAM accessible from 14×8 core Intel Sandy Bridge processors, and two Intel Xeon Pho 5110P co-processors and 7 TB of dedicated local scratch storage.

These facilities will be replaced this summer by new Intel machines, which include a cluster of 336 high-performance servers with 13,440 CPU cores and 64 TB of memory, and other cutting-edge components. For more details, click here.
